Contentment

Philippians 4:11-12

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Where do you find contentment? I  find contentment in the great outdoors, in the sun, somewhere near a body of water. I can also find contentment when I am fully relaxed with all my To-Do’s all Done! Being with those I love always brings me contentment as well. When I read Philippians 4:11-12 I realize that there is a contentment that can’t be found in our surroundings or in other people. We all have basic needs and when they are met we feel some level of contentment, but what if contentment really was all about the trust and Faith in Jesus?  Finding our Faith in Jesus can offer up the greatest sense of contentment. Paul is describing contentment in Christ here in Philippians 4:11-12. We too can find that contentment in Him through our Faith. Knowing Jesus allows us to see His Faithfulness, His love and that reassures us time and time again. We can live with this kind of contentment because we know that we are never alone and that we can count on the power and strength of Jesus to get us through every circumstance  ( Philippians 4:13, I can do all this through him who gives me strength). I have experienced overwhelming odds in my life and I rarely found true contentment until I found Jesus! I can now look to Him for what I need in order to overcome while being content. Thank You Jesus!
