All About Reading

Home schooling has been a blessing for us and one of the reasons is the array of resources that we have found out have introduced us to a new approach to education. With a child with ADD we have found that the right curriculum is essential. Through All About Learning Press we have seen that teaching to where your child is, is more beneficial than teaching to a standard other than the individual.

We wanted to do the reading and spelling program at the same time, because we thought is what you are supposed to do. Not really the case at all. After assessing our sons reading level we realized that we needed to work on a few key reading skills prior to adding the spelling program. Before we made this decision we called the customer service at All About Learning Press. They advised us to start with reading, but when we felt our son was ready we could introduce the All About spelling. We felt confident at this point that this was the right decision.

We have been using the reading program for a few months now and we have witnessed tremendous progress. Not only has our son progressed with  phonetic awareness and fluency, but he has developed new found joy for reading. This is huge and seriously we couldn’t be happier! To see our son enjoy reading and choose to read on his own is amazing!

Reading is no longer painful and now we see that we will be ready to add spelling before the end of the this quarter. I love that this program has made it possible for our family to teach reading with ease. I also love that the letter tiles help engage our son’s attention to phonetic rules while he is playing. We enjoy doing the reading activities together and he can do them independently as well. That is a plus!

I am all about sharing what we find works for us and All About Reading is one of those gems worth sharing!  I will continue to share our experience with our Reading as well as what we discover with All About Spelling. Stay tuned!
