Faithful Servant

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
Matthew 25:21

The hard work of our hands will produce something if we stick with it! This is being faithful in a task that is anything but glamorous. This is also what we are called to do for God. We are called to be faithful as Jesus was faithful in His call.

There are many things that we can be called to in this life and in faith we obediently say yes! We need to recognize that sometimes He is calling us to the unfavorable place, and it is here that we scream No! If anyone has been called to the unknown, the difficult, the painful place than you know what I am talking about.

If we truly set out to be a servant of God and others then it is all about them, not us. This will lead us to the difficult “Yes”! This is a place that is rarely neat, and the truth is it is mostly messy, but still if God has called us there then we have a job to do. We are called to be faithful day in and day out, but if we are honest there are some days we just want to run and hide. The truth is there are many places in life where are efforts go unseen and under appreciated, but not to God!

We are called to love God with all our heart and all our minds and all our strength. Along with that we are to love others and this is why we serve faithfully. This means hard work and at times the unpleasant work that others may overlook and rarely comes with a payoff. It is in faith that we will gain the perseverance to continue in those places. Jesus was faithful to complete His call, and it is in Him that we gain the strength and faithfulness to complete ours.

Let us Live out our life as good and faithful servants, and one day we will hear “Well Done”!
