All I need is Peace!

Have you ever been overstimulated by the world around you where you cried out loud, “I Need Peace”! It seems this is a very common theme in our world today, at least for me it is. I’m constantly moving, doing and striving at things in what seems like lightning speed. I stretch myself to the very ends of my ability and utilize all of my strength, which at times leaves me depleted and weak. I become so desperate and in need of  Peace that it brings me to a choice; Either I collapse in defeat, or I move forward and search out His Peace? I never believe in giving up, so Peace I will find! But where do I find that Peace that I’m desperately seeking? In Isaiah 26:3 it says, ” You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You”.  It also says that if we keep our mind focused on Him, we will experience the Peace that is Him. Focusing our minds on Jesus can be difficult in a world that demands our undivided  attention. This is where I struggle! I often fail to recognize my limitations and in doing so I attempt to work on all things that come my way. I know that alone, I was never meant to do all things, but in my constant motion I’m unable to discern where to start and when to stop. In James 1:5 it says, ” If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him”.  Asking God for wisdom, requires us to stop and listen. It is in those still moments we can clearly hear and discern what is right for us. This is when we reconnect with God and allow our trust and faith in Him to renew us with His Peace. Taking time everyday to be still in His presence fuels us with the wisdom we need to move according to His will. There are times we must unplug from the demands of our every day lives, especially when we are depleted. We have to let go of all our worries, our work and the demanding world that surrounds us. Find a place where you can just be, in His presence, reconnecting with Him and allowing His peace to renew your mind and your heart ( Philippians 4:7 ).  Enjoy more of the life that He gave you so you can live it out in Peace!
