The Compass Points the Way

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 CSB

Long before GPS, a compass was used to find directions.  The compass is an instrument containing a magnetized pointer that shows the direction of the magnetic north and bearings from it.  This is exactly what we need on our life’s journey.  Without a compass we can find ourselves running in circles, never arriving at our desired destination. Maybe this is the time to change course, but how and where do we go?

I have experienced true life-changing joy by coming to know God, and firmly believe that the only is to follow Jesus. In Jeremiah 29:13 God promises us a way, 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. God assures us that we will find Him if we seek Him with all our hearts.  He also promises to make our path to Him straight when we trust in Him, Proverbs 3:5-6,  5 ” Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

We do not have to stumble our way through life, running in circles, alone and tired. God promised and provided a way for a compass to guide us and point the way we should go. Jesus is our guide, our compass, our way. Jesus tells us in John 14:6, that He is the way to God.

Jesus is the living truth to all of God’s promises. All that He teaches is true and we will find Life when we find and follow Him. The life that we find in and through Jesus is an eternal, vibrant life that begins the moment we believe. Let today be the day that you step toward God in faith and belief in our true and faithful guide, Jesus!

Blessings,
