Faith Defined

What can I do to define and explain faith. My faith is the confidence that I have in Jesus. I know where I was before he saved me, before He changed me. I am certain that who the bible says Jesus is, is in fact, true. I have faith! I have a belief, a hope in something that is unseen, faith. The bible defines faith in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” We hope that we can be saved and changed, all for our good, but when you become a believer and certain that Jesus saves, your faith is unlocked. This is saving faith. Saving faith leads us to repentance, deciding to believe and change. Once we are redeemed through our faith, the Journey begins . The most amazing and beautiful journey with Jesus. We begin to understand, believe and follow Him through the powerful words written in the bible. The bible is Gods word, truth that changes and brings us to life. Walking into our Christian life is not easy, but we are not alone. We do not make or succeed without His power. The same power that rose Jesus from the dead is within us. Through faith we see it and we believe it. This is how faith grows stronger and more and more certain. The personal experiences we have with Jesus become our eye witness testimony. We go from reading facts and truth in the bible to experiencing the life of those words. The change within us becomes more evident, not only to us, but to others as well. Thoughts, temptations, weakness seem to to disappear. Not instantly and not by our actions, but through faith. You see God sent His one and only Son to save, to do for us what we could not do. John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” Through our faith that this is true we become saved, not condemned, but changed, redeemed. We can not do this on our own, but with Him we can do all things. This journey builds our relationship with God. We begin to learn who he is, his character, motives and heart. We begin to trust Him. Through this trust in the God we have come to know our faith, which was unlocked and is free to grow.
