Fully Engaged

FULLY ENGAGED

It is very difficult these days to be fully in engaged in any one thing. We live in a very high paced world and we multi task at an unbelievable rate. I know this is true for me, being a wife, mother of five, business owner and aspiring writer/speaker. If you have a family member who is dealing with a chronic illness or you yourself than it just adds to the difficulty of completing all the tasks in your life. In each of my roles there are a many things to do planned and unplanned. How many hours in a day again? How little sleep can I survive on? The truth is I fail daily to complete all that there is in my mind to do. I am not sure anyone could accomplish that list! I feel sometimes I plan too much, attempt too much and expect too much, but God doesn’t. God knows exactly where I am and what needs to be for any given day. The bible says, not to be anxious in Philippians 4:6; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” This is why I begin my day with God. He allows me to present my already extensive plans at His feet and rest. I will surely burn out if I attempt to accomplish everything that I think is important. God knows what the day brings and He knows what strength I will need. With Him I can focus on the things that bring peace and joy into my day, not stress and burnout. Sometimes we expect to be Super Heroes in our daily lives, but God only expects us to be present. Present with Him in order to see His love for us in all the many blessings he has surrounded us with. So I am learning, and may be learning the rest of my life, to be fully engaged with Him.
