You Belong

Where do you belong?  Finding our place in this world can be very difficult and at times exhausting. I have struggled with finding my fit and in fact I have been held back because of  insecure feelings. Even in my Christian walk I struggled with feeling like I belong. Why is that? I have come to see that the enemy wants to holds us back from living the free life that Jesus gave. He plants lies in our minds that tell us “you are not good enough, ” you don’t belong here, “who do you think you are?”.  I desired to belong to a Christian community, but always felt unwelcome. My mind was set on being a “lone wolf”. I can walk with Jesus, and since I don’t belong with other believers, I am good on my own. What? I know now that that was a lie! I belong because He welcomed me, but you belong as well. We belong together as a community of believers. I read Ephesians 2:19-22 and was so uplifted by the sense of belonging, that I couldn’t help but share with you. I know I belong to Him, who called me out! I know you belong to Him! I know we belong as a community of light sharing and exhibiting the Life within! Let us all step out of the lies that hold us captive, and live together, free!

Ephesians 2:19-22

19-22 That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.
