The Long and Winding Path

What direction are you headed? What course are you on? I have been thinking about some of the things that I have been filling my time with and I wonder if these things are aiding me in the direction I am meant to go, or our these things leading me off track. It is hard to know the will of God, but it is possible to find it. Through trust we can find His will  for us and this will keep us on the right track.

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
    don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
    he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
    Run to God! Run from evil!

I read this scripture today and it reminded me that He knows best always. I sometimes think that staying on course is right, just because its the course I have been on, and its all I know. What if God alters our course according to His will for our good? He sees all and knows all. Maybe accepting this detour or change of course in trust is all we need to do. If we are focused on Him and seek His will through His word and prayer, then I believe we will take the course He has set for us. Today I woke up with confusion about the course I have been on and I feel God is redirecting me. It does not make sense and I do not know why, but like the scripture says, ” don’t try to figure everything out on your own”. I choose to trust Him instead of figuring it all out and that brings me peace. The fact is, we live in an uncertain world with tracks that are windy and full of obstacles. We follow our path and hope it leads us where we desire, but we can’t see all the turns ahead. God knows what lies before us and if we listen in Faith we will know He is diverting us to the intended place. The place He has intended for us. This is a place that is good, even when it seems confusing (Jeremiah 29:11). Live focused on Him and find comfort in His good plan for you!
