Transparency

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

What does it look like to be an authentic Christian? This is difficult to answer because the truth is God is the only rightful judge of a persons authenticity. While this is true, we can see characteristics of a true Christ follower by their actions. In John 13:35 it states this very truth when Jesus says that people will know us by our love.

In order for our actions to be such that they demonstrate true love, than they must come from Christ Himself! Life comes through Jesus and that life is full of genuine authentic love, but in order for that to be authentic within us we must accept it.

This kind of life and love comes through surrender and in that surrender a choice to abide in all that He is and all that He commands. This is where are hearts are transformed, changed and made new.

In Him we are made new and deep within us grows an authentic heart, one that lives and moves in love! Let us all come to live so transparent that the love of Christ is seen within!
