Rise and Shine

11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:11-12

Waking to a brand new day will either fill us with hopeful expectations or begrudging bleakness. Who are you when you wake from sleep? I have been both, the bleak riser and the hopeful optimist. I rise with wide eyes set to conquer each brand new day, but what tools equip me and give me the ability to conquer with hope and expectation? Being aware of God’s presence all around us and the Spirit that lives within us, will lead us to the one and only source of light. We must wake up everyday with our eyes and hearts fixed on Jesus. He will lead us to live out a life that is good and pleasing, but without Him, we are left in the dark, unarmed and unable to truly rise and conquer each day. We have a choice to either sleep walk through our lives or seek out the true meaning of our lives. I can tell you that I discovered the truth when Jesus captured my heart. My choice to rise and live a life pleasing to God is only possible because He lives within me. You have that same choice and invitation to wake from your sleep and Live! All you need to do is accept the Love of God through Jesus. This new, real Life, will not only be what you do but who you are. Everything will change from the inside out, your heart, your attitude and your actions will all reveal the life and light that lives within. We live in a time where bleakness and hopelessness are all around us, and we are in need of Him and His light. We can be living examples of this, if we choose. Today choose to wake up and clothe yourselves in the full armor of God, and be ready to conquer this day with Faith in the Faithful One ( Ephesians 6:10-18 ). Rise and Shine, and Live out the bright life that Glorifies our Great God!
