Salvation Is……..

Okay, so what is salvation and how do we get it? This is a deep topic one where I could talk for days, but there is no better way to answer these questions than from God’s Holy Word. Scripture has plenty to say about salvation and it all points to Jesus! I have listed some very helpful verses in different versions and I hope this brings enlightenment and clarification. I mostly hope you see that Jesus is enough, He is Everything!

Live out your salvation!

Salvation is the “saving” of a sinner from the righteous judgment of God. (CARM.Org)

We are all in need of saving:

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” – Romans 3:23 NIV

Jesus came to save us and this is a free gift from God:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 ESV

Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.”Romans 10:13-17 MSG

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—” – Ephesians 2:8 NIV

Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.” – Ephesians 2:8 MSG

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12 NIV

“With that, Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, let loose: “Rulers and leaders of the people, if we have been brought to trial today for helping a sick man, put under investigation regarding this healing, I’ll be completely frank with you—we have nothing to hide. By the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the One you killed on a cross, the One God raised from the dead, by means of his name this man stands before you healthy and whole. Jesus is ‘the stone you masons threw out, which is now the cornerstone.’ Salvation comes no other way; no other name has been or will be given to us by which we can be saved, only this one.” – Acts 4:8-12 MSG

Faith and Belief:

“They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” – Acts 16:31 NIV

“And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved, you and your household [if they also believe].” – Acts 16:31 AMP

know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[a] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.” – Galatians 2:16 NIV

“We Jews know that we have no advantage of birth over “non-Jewish sinners.” We know very well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. How do we know? We tried it—and we had the best system of rules the world has ever seen! Convinced that no human being can please God by self-improvement, we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not by trying to be good.” – Galatians 2:15-16

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.” – Philippians 3:9 NIV

“The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God’s righteousness.” – Philippians 3:7-9 MSG

Live out your salvation:

For he says,In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
– 2 Corinthians 6:2

For he says, I listened to you at the time of my favor.
And the day when you needed salvation,
I came to your aid. So can’t you see? Now is the time to respond to his favor! Now is the day of salvation!”
– 2 Corinthians 6:2 TPT

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:12-13 ESV

What I’m getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. When I was living among you, you lived in responsive obedience. Now that I’m separated from you, keep it up. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.” – Philippians 2:12-13 Message

And the one who experiences victory will be dressed in white robes and I will never, no never erase your name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge your name before my Father and his angels.” – Revelation 3:5 TPT

Key takeaways are to believe through faith and surrender to the Holy Spirit by turning from your sin and to live by His power and strength as He transforms you from the inside out.

Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.” – 2 Corinthians 3:16-18
