Leading by Example

“But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:14-17‬ ‭MSG‬‬

There is a saying, “do as I say, not as I do, but this saying is not how we can influence another person effectively. If you are a parent or have a position of leadership than you know that it can be difficult to influence someone with just words. We speak and teach with our words this is true, but our actions are really what others are looking too, and it is through the example of right living that we can truly be a positive influence.

As a parent I have come to know that it is my responsibility to teach my children about God and instill His truths in the very fabric of what I teach them. This will be more impactful if they see that what I teach them is alive and real within me.

The fact is our children may learn God’s way, but still may find themselves stumbling one day, but if they know the truth, the way and the life through witnessing it in us than they will know the way to go, because they will know what it looks like.

Be the life in all you do, especially in leading and teaching others! Live it out loud for all to see the evidence of Him!
